Fantasy GeoPolitics

Eric Nelson, a teacher in Minnesotta, recently told me about a new program he developed called “Fantasy GeoPolitics.” He’s interested in connecting with more teachers who might be willing to give his game a try. As Eric described in an e-mail to me, “Basically, Fantasy GeoPolitics is a social learning game that follows countries and world leaders as they compete for news headlines–it’s like fantasy football for NCSS social studies and Common Core literacy standards!” The motivation for Eric to develop Fantasy GeoPolitics was to use gamification as a way to encourage curiosity, teach students how to read and respond to the news, and cover social studies/literacy standards.

If interested, check out Eric’s website where he describes how his game works and reach out to Eric at nelson.ejn@gmail.com.
