Biography in a Bag Icebreaker

I asked one of Randolph’s teachers to share this fun activity she uses in class on the blog. Here is a guest post by Linda Weinstein:

Biography in a Bag Icebreaker

This has been a great first assignment for ninth grade students. It gives them the opportunity to complete several tasks that are integral to their success in my world history course: reflect, write, and present their ideas orally. Students have the opportunity to ask questions of each other; I engage each student in an extended conversation about the artifacts.  And the students really appreciate that I share who I am with my own bio-in-a-bag!
